The White House Chief of Staff attempted to keep Ivanka Trump’s “visits” to the Oval Office down to a minimum, but the First Daughter isn’t abiding by the rules.
According to The Financial Times, Chief of Staff John Kelly has tried to set up guidelines for all to follow regarding the Oval Office. Nonetheless, self-righteous Ivanka barges in whenever she pleases. Taking her title very seriously, Ivanka feels she is privileged and should be allowed to speak with her father whenever, no matter who is in the Oval Office with him.
Last month there were reports that said anyone other than First Lady Melania Trump and young Barron, nobody was allowed to see the President without an appointment.
Many in the White House administration were joyous about the news because Ivanka had a knack of interrupting meetings and causing the President to lose focus. Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon laughed about the new restrictions saying that the spoiled First Daughter could no longer “run in and lay her head on the desk and cry.”
Journalists and legislators alike are trying to determine if Ivanka’s drop-ins are organic, or are they plotted interruptions by the President to get out of answering some hard questions.
Taking “Daddy’s” attention away from important meetings is nothing new for the entitled First Daughter. During an interview with CNN’s Gloria Borger, Ivanka said that she would frequently call the Trump Organization collect while she was at Chapin School, her private school in New York City.
During recess, Ivanka would “dial her dad, who would put her on speakerphone with whomever happened to be in his office.” Ivanka bragged, “It was colleagues, it was titans of industry, it was heads of countries. He’d always tell everyone in the room how great a daughter I was.”
