George Clooney spoke with Marlow Stern of the Daily Beast and offered his opinion of Steve Bannon. “Steve Bannon is a pu**y.”
Clooney, an actor, director, producer, screenwriter, activist, businessman, and humanitarian, described Bannon’s disastrous attempt at making it in Hollywood.
Bannon, is described by Clooney as a “little wannabe writer” who would step on anyone to have a script he wrote make it onto the silver screen. Clooney states Bannon wrote one of the “worst scripts I’ve ever read.” Bannon wrote a Shakespeare-rap attempt of the L.A. riots.
Bannon tried to be a Hollywood screen writer before he became the head of the right-wing publication, Breitbart News, before taking the position of chief executive officer during the 2016 presidential campaign, and before becoming Donald Trump’s chief strategist (a job of which he was fired from).
The scripts he wrote were full of far-right views about race, women and civilization. One script was repulsively inspired by Hitler and was about cloning and eugenics. The script about the LA riots made african-american characters gangsters and vicious animals stereotypically, and had them insulting caucasians by calling them “whitey.”
Clooney finished his interview by saying if someone in Hollywood actually approved of any of his scripts, he would still be there and not the alt-right leader he has become. Clooney said if Hollywood executives said this is a “really good script, and had they made his movie, he’d still be in Hollywood writing his f****in’ movies and kissing my a** to be in one of his f***in’ films!”
In February 2017, Bannon appeared on the cover of Time, in which he was labeled “the Great Manipulator.” According to Philip Elliott and Zeke J. Miller of Time, Bannon has “pushed racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic material into the vein of the alternative right.” While working with President Trump, Bannon had allegedly leaked information to the alternative media, including alt-right writer Mike Cernovich.
