Vice President Mike Pence took to Twitter with an obviously staged picture of an Iowa couple who met him right outside his plane. He claims the couple lost their healthcare coverage due to Obamacare.
In an alternate reality, Pence would like us to believe that this couple was allowed to walk through a heavily guarded area around the vice president’s plane, to tell him they had lost health insurance.
The photo doesn’t show the couples faces, but by the way they are dressed it’s easy to see they are well-off.

Welcomed in Iowa today by Craig & Cindy Williams who purchased health insurance 2 years ago but lost it due to Obamacare. We will do better. pic.twitter.com/hANbg8Niuk

Twitter users are smarter than that.

Richest country on the planet and you're prepared to let people die in the street with your health policy. How Christian of you.

Pence has been extremely hypocritical about Obamacare and Medicaid in the past. When he was governor of Indiana, Pence eliminated Scott County Planned Parenthood by slashing health spending. It was the only place for the residents of this rural area to get tested for HIV.
According to the Hill, HIV began to spread throughout the community due to an injection drug use epidemic. Each week at least 20 new cases of HIV were being diagnosed as it sped out of control. Pence turned to Obamacare’s expanded Medicaid program to help Scott County residents get medical care, HIV test, and substance abuse treatment. It worked, brought the number of new infections down to zero and stopped the outbreak.
However just months later, as Vice President of the United States, Pence’s view changed. “The Obamacare nightmare is about to end. Virtually every promise with Obamacare has been broken,” he said in March of this year.
The GOP is taking every photo-op they can, and turning every tragic event into a promotion. After the attack in London, President Donald Trump used the unbelievable suffering to push his Muslim ban. It’s nothing short of despicable.
