Canandian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stands out as a key liberal leader in North America. Why he’s wasting his time with Ivanka Trump is anyone’s guess.
Ivanka joined Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, Tuesday night at a dinner for Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C. Also with them were Billie Jean King and Jewel. Trudeau has attended functions with Ivanka in the past.
This is fascinating. Ivanka has a crush on Trudeau

I can’t see why he wants to sit next to her. pic.twitter.com/0KEoxxuJW1

Trudeau took Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, to a Broadway show in March, “Come from Away.” The show is about planes being re-routed to Newfoundland after the attacks on 9/11.

No one has been able to tell the functionality of the meetings between Ivanka and Trudeau. They make for obvious excellent photo-ops, but is it more than that. Ivanka could be working in her White House adviser role, or she could simply enjoy his company.
Speaking about Ivanka’s role in the White House, it is so confusing nobody is quite sure what her intentions are. A panel moderator at the G20 Summit asked the question we’ve all wanted to, “What is your role, and who are you representing: your father as President of the United States, the American people, or your business?”
On Monday, at another gathering for the Most Powerful Women Summit, the First Daughter stated that she sees herself as “trying to get people to talk, bring people to the table, expose this issue to people who haven’t previously thought or considered it and hopefully make progress.
So that would make her an advocate, not an adviser to the President of the United States.
